Bonding Bonding of Elastomer and Rubber to Metals, Composites, Fabrics, Teflon Rubbercraft's ability to vulcanize elastomers and rubbers to different substrates and materials provides a higher-performing bond than an adhesive or secondary bonding operation. Depending on the sub-strates and materials involved, there is a need to treat the surfaces with the right mediums to optimize the bonding. Our engineers and technicians are expert at examining the different sub-strates in relation to the customer need and application, determine how they should be joined together and make recommendations as to what would work best in the particular type of application. Our expertise has evolved out of years of experience working with the different sub-strates that we bond. We have developed expertise on the different methods of treating, priming, coating, and prepping materials to achieve superior bonds - methods such as chemical etching, physical scuffing or abrasion of the surface. Capabilities we've developed over the years allow us to do a variety of other surface treatments to the materials to improve their bonding characteristics - anywhere from simple solvent wiping and cleaning to sandblasting with various mediums such as sand, walnut shells, glass or plastic beads.
