Rubbercraft Welcomes CMI Rubber Company to the Rubbercraft Family
December 21, 2011

CMI originally focused on molded rubber products for oil & gas applications.  Later, under the guidance of the second generation of the Immel family to run the business, CMI branched out into molded rubber products for aerospace applications, and finally into specialty molded products used on night vision and thermal imaging devices.

“CMI is an important addition to the Sanders family of companies”, noted Bill Baldwin, CEO of the parent company.  “The Immel brothers built a significant business specializing in custom rubber products for night vision and thermal imaging equipment used by US and NATO ground forces.  We believe that CMI’s product lines and customer base complement our existing lines of business, in particular what we are currently doing at our Rubbercraft Division.

"There is a lot pride and tradition behind the CMI brand name”, noted John Immel of CMI. “The business has been business in our family for several generations.  Speaking for myself and my two brothers, we are confident that Rubbercraft/Sanders will carry on in the best traditions of CMI”.
